'ದನ ಕಾಯೋನು' ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಮರ್ಶಕರು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಮಾರ್ಕ್ಸ್ ಎಷ್ಟು.?

'ದನ ಕಾಯೋನು' ಮತ್ತು ಜಾಗತೀಕರಣ : ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ

ದನ ಕಾಯೋನು ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಎರಡು ಭಯಂಕರ ಆರೋಪಗಳಿಂದ ಮುಕ್ತವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಯೋಗರಾಜ್ ಭಟ್‌ ಮತ್ತು ನಟ ದುನಿಯಾ ವಿಜಯ್‌. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಭಟ್ಟರ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕತೆಯೇ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಅನ್ನುವ ಮಾತಿತ್ತು. ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ವಿಜಯ್‌ ಕೇವಲ ಸಾಹಸ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶಗಳಿರುವ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅನ್ನುವ ಅಸಹನೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಅವೆರಡೂ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಯವಾಗಿವೆ. ಈ ಬಾರಿ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು ಗಂಭೀರ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನೇ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ವಿಜಯ್‌ ಮತ್ತೆ ಹಳೆಯ ದಿನಗಳಿಗೆ ಮರಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದನ ಕಾಯೋನು ವಿಶೇಷ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಅನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂದು ಜಾಗತೀಕರಣದ ಬಿಸಿ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲ. ಬಹುರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳ ಲಾಭಕೋರತನ ನಮಗರಿವಿಗೆ ಬಾರದೇ ದೇಸಿತನದ ಜತೆಗಿನ ಮಾನವ ಸಂಬಂಧದವನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಈ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾದ ಎಳೆಯೇ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಆಗಿದೆ - ಶರಣು ಹುಲ್ಲೂರು

'ದನ ಕಾಯೋನು' ಒಂದು ಪಕ್ಕಾ ಭಟ್ಟರ ಶೈಲಿಯ ಸಿನಿಮಾ. ಆರಂಭದಿಂದ ಅಂತ್ಯದವರೆಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಶೈಲಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಡದೆ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಭಟ್ಟರು. ಅದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗಿಯೇ ಮಾತು ಮಾತು ಮತ್ತು ಮಾತು. ಯಾವುದೇ ಏರಿಳಿತಗಳಿಲ್ಲದೇ, ನೋಡುಗರಿಗೆ, ಕೇಳುಗರಿಗೆ ಈ ಅತಿಯಾದ ಮಾತು ಸುಸ್ತಾಗಬಹುದೆಂಬ ಯಾವುದೇ ದಾಕ್ಷಿಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗದೇ ಭಟ್ಟರು ತಮ್ಮ 'ಮಾತಿನ ವರಸೆ'ಯಲ್ಲೇ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಡಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ - ರವಿಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ರೈ

ಮಾತಿನ ಅಬ್ಬರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದುಹೋದ 'ಅಂಬಾ' - ಪ್ರಜಾವಾಣಿ

ಶಂಕರನಾಗ್‌ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ‘ಒಂದು ಮುತ್ತಿನ ಕಥೆ' ಸಿನಿಮಾದ ಆಧುನಿಕ ರೂಪ ಯೋಗರಾಜ ಭಟ್‌ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ‘ದನ ಕಾಯೋನು'. ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಬೆಲೆಬಾಳುವ ಮುತ್ತು, ಈ ಹೊತ್ತಿನ ಅಪರೂಪದ ತಳಿಯ ಹೋರಿ. ದುಡ್ಡಿನ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮುಖವಾಡಗಳು ಕಳಚಿಬೀಳುವುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತಃಕರಣವೇ ದೊಡ್ಡದೆನ್ನುವ ಆದರ್ಶ ಎರಡು ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಇದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ‘ಒಂದು ಮುತ್ತಿನ ಕಥೆ' ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಆವರಣ ‘ದನ ಕಾಯೋನು' ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ. ರಾಜಕುಮಾರ್‌, ಅರ್ಚನಾ ಅವರಂಥ ಅನುಭವಿ ಕಲಾವಿದರ ಪ್ರಭಾವಳಿ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ. ‘ಒಂದು ಮುತ್ತಿನ ಕಥೆ' ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಸುವ ಗಾಢ ವಿಷಾದ ಕೂಡ ಭಟ್ಟರ ಚಿತ್ರದಿಂದ ದಕ್ಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ‘ಗಾಳಿಪಟ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಂತರ ಯೋಗರಾಜ ಭಟ್‌ ಅವರು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳಿರುವ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದು ‘ದನ ಕಾಯೋನು' ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ. ಊರವರ ದನಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವ ಕುಟುಂಬವೊಂದರ ತವಕತಲ್ಲಣಗಳ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ತನ್ನ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಕಥೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಗಮನಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಪ್ಪನಾಗಿ ಬಿರಾದಾರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಗನಾಗಿ ವಿಜಯ್‌ ಅಭಿನಯ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ - ರಘುನಾಥ.ಚ.ಹ

Dana Kayonu Movie Review - Bangalore Mirror

Yograj Bhat seems to have reinvented himself. Dana Kayonu does not carry the usual irreverent tone of his films. It should rank among his best films. Instead of relying only on characterisation and dialogues, he weaves an impressive story and narrates a story of the underclass that is convincing and soothing. Picking an often heard village legend, he turns it into a narrative of the subaltern class; the cowherds. There are also glimpses of Geethapriya's film Premayana, a popular Kannada folk story and a nervous reference to the current politics over cow. A bull (Shankara) and a cow (Gowri) are among the principal characters, where Bhat once again shows his love for animal characters. Of course, Bhat cannot forego his love for dialogue overdose. Especially in the first half, Rangayana Raghu continues to ham his way through. The film is also too long for comfort. However it does not feel like a drag- Shyam Prasad

Yogaraj Bhat is back in his vintage best with Dana Kayonu. This film is his own Thithi or Gods Must Be Crazy, only with more commercial elements, like fights, songs and more. Only, these can be pardoned because you end up rooting for the story, its unconventional heroes and it also has a subtle underlying message, if your can look beneath the surface. The story is simple. There are no extra frills. This is about a particular bull and its innocent owner and what happens when this almost good-for-nothing duo has a big price tag to it. This is when human emotions, rather the cardinal sins, take over and the village suddenly becomes a big political arena. This little hamlet becomes a mirror image of what could happen to people, rather what already has - Sunayana Suresh
