ಕಾಡು-ನಾಡು ಕಳಕಳಿಯ 'ಮಾಸ್ತಿಗುಡಿ' ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಮರ್ಶಕರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನು?

ಕಾಡು-ಕಳಕಳಿಯ ಸವಕಳಿ: ಪ್ರಜಾವಾಣಿ

ಕಾಡು ಹಾಗೂ ಹುಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವ ಬಗೆಗಿನ ಸಿನಿಮಾ, ಆ ಕಾಳಜಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿಸಲು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವ ಮಾರ್ಗ ನೇರವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ, ಸಹಜವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಅನೇಕ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜಕುಮಾರ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾವನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ನಾಯಕಿಯರು ಪಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಜೀವ ತುಂಬಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಬಿ.ಜಯಶ್ರೀ, ರಂಗಾಯಣ ರಘು ಪಾತ್ರ ಪೋಷಣೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ. ವಿಜಯ್ ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕವಾಗಿ ಚಿತ್ರ ಸಮಾಧಾನಕರ ಹಂತದಿಂದ ಮೇಲೇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಕಾಡಿನ ಛಾಯೆ ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿಯಲು ಸತ್ಯ ಹೆಗಡೆ ದಣಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆ ದಣಿವನ್ನು ಸಾಧು ಕೋಕಿಲ ಸಂಗೀತ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅನಿಲ್, ಉದಯ್ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲುಳಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಾಗಶೇಖರ್ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳ ಭಾವೋತ್ಕರ್ಷ, ನವಿರುತನ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ - ರಘುನಾಥ ಚ.ಹ.

ಹುಲಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಅಬ್ಬರಿಸುವ ಮಾಸ್ತಿಗುಡಿ: ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ

'ಮಾಸ್ತಿಗುಡಿ' ಬಗೆಗಿನ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಪೂರೈಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಒಂದೊಳ್ಳೆ ಚಿತ್ರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದೇಳಬಹುದು. ಒಂದೊಳ್ಳೆ ಸಂದೇಶವಿದೆ. ದುನಿಯಾ ವಿಜಯ್ ಕತೆಗೆ ನಾಗಶೇಖರ್ ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆ ಪೂರಕವಾಗಿದೆ. ನಾಯಕ 4 ಲುಕ್ ಗಳಿಂದ ಮಿಂಚಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಾಯಕಿಯರೂ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬಿ.ಜಯಶ್ರೀ ಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಕಾಯ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಂಗೀತ, ಚಿತ್ರದ ಛಾಯಾಗ್ರಹಣ, ಕಲಾವಿದರ ಮೇಕಪ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಜಿಗಲ್ಲಿನಂತೆ ಸೆಳೆಯುವ ಮೂರು ಅಂಶಗಳು. ಚಿತ್ರದ ನೈಜತೆಗೆ ಕಲಾವಿದರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಮೇಕಪ್ ಪ್ಲಸ್ ಪಾಯಿಂಟ್. ಆದರೆ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ವೇಗದ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಕೆಲ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಡುವಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಎಡವಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿ ಆಸ್ತಿ ನಾಶಪಡಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ಉರುಳಾಗಿ ಮಾಸ್ತಿ: ಕನ್ನಡಪ್ರಭ

ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೂಲ ಉದ್ದೇಶದ ಯಾವ ಅಂಶದ ಆಳಕ್ಕೂ ಇಳಿಯದೇ, ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ಹೀರೋ ವಿಜೃಂಭಣೆಯ ಮೊರೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬೇಸರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಮಾನವ-ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿ ಸಂಘರ್ಷವನ್ನು ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಮಾದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದು ವಿಶೇಷವೆನಿಸಿದೆ. ನಿರೂಪಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮತೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿತ್ತು. ಒತ್ತಾಯ ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ತುರುಕಲಾಗಿದೆ. ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕವಾಗಿ ಕ್ಯಾಮೆರಾ ವರ್ಕ್ ನಿಂದ ಚಿತ್ರ ಗಮನಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಂಗೀತ ಇಂಪಾಗಿದೆ. 70 ರ ದಶಕದ ಉಡುಗೆತೊಡುಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರಂತರತೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು ಸಾವಧಾನದಿಂದ ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ಆಳಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿದು ವನ್ಯಜೀವಿ ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವ ಜಾಲದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ವಿಸ್ತೃತವಾಗಿ ಕಥೆ ಹೆಣೆದು ಅದನ್ನು ರೋಚಕವಾಗಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರೇ ಬಹುಶಃ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಬಹುದಿತ್ತೇನೋ.

'Gandhadagudi' Wannabe: Bangalore Mirror

Maasthi Gudi is a Gandhadagudi wannabe. It reminds you of films made by actor-producer MP Shankar under his Bharani Chitra banner. Enough has been invested in the film to make it look like a grand spectacle. But loss of focus in the narrative robs the film of being a compelling watch. Unnecessary romantic scenes and fights make the film go haywire in the second-half and a plot that was slowly building up crumbles. The film is watchable for the visual brilliance, the more-than-decent graphically designed animals and a few good scenes. Duniya Vijay's supernatural suspense story and the romantic view of director Nagashekar do not gel.

The film has a good message that it seeks to send, but the execution falters with a lacklustre screenplay. Duniya Vijay, Amulya, Kriti Kharbanda lead the way when it comes to performances, along with rest of the ensemble cast, there are a lot of times one is left bewildered as to what is going on, especially in the second half. known for his romantic capers, Nagashekar has ensured that the two love stories, involving both the leading ladies, are sweet, peppered with good songs. Songs are hummable with short but cute romantic tales. While this film does seem a tad underwhelming eventually, one can definitely go and watch the film for Vijay's acting and the underlying message about forest conservation.
