ಇದು ತಮಿಳಿನ 'ಸತುರಂಗ ವೆಟೈ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ರೀಮೇಕ್. ಹಾಗಂತ ಚಿತ್ರತಂಡ ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿಯೇ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡು ಈ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಕಥಾ ನಾಯಕ ಜನರನ್ನು ವಂಚಿಸುವ ತರಹೇವಾರಿ ತಂತ್ರಗಾರಿಕೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ 'ಜಗತ್ ಕಿಲಾಡಿ' ಎನ್ನುವ ಶೀರ್ಷಿಕೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ - ದೇಶಾದ್ರಿ ಹೊಸ್ಮನೆ

This is the official remake of the Tamil film Sathuranga Vettai, which was a surprise winner at the box office. The Tamil original won much critical acclaim for its taut writing and apt casting. This set the premise for it being an apt choice for a remake. The Kannada remake shows earnestness, but it also lacks the zing that makes it stand out. Jagath Kiladi is earnest in its making and faithful to the original, but seems a tad too laborious a watch and could have cut down on a few minutes to add that edginess - Sunayana Suresh

This remake of Sathuranga Vettai gives a very good impression about the Tamil original. It is a good script to copy. But that does not make Jagath Kiladi a compelling film to watch. The character of the protagonist is great but Niranjan in the role is insipid. Except for in the last getup as a priest, he is a let down in the rest of the film. Ameet Kulal in the other important role also fails to make an impact. The making and acting do not match the edgy energy that is surely present in the script - Shyam Prasad S
