'ವರ್ತಮಾನ' ಕಂಡು ಗೊಂದಲಗೊಂಡ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಿನಿ ವಿಮರ್ಶಕರು!

ವರ್ತಮಾನ: ಒಂದು ಬೌದ್ಧಿಕ ಕಸರತ್ತು - ಪ್ರಜಾವಾಣಿ

ಉಮೇಶ್‌ ವಂಶಿ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಈ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ವೀಕ್ಷಕನಿಗೆ ಮನೋರಂಜನೆ ನೀಡುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಗೊಂದಲಗಳನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಸಿನಿಮಾದ ಪೋಸ್ಟರ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ‘A movie for extraordinary minds' (ಅಸಾಧಾರಣ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಸಿನಿಮಾ) ಎನ್ನುವ ಮಾತು ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ತಲೆದೂಗದೆ ವಿಧಿಯಿಲ್ಲ ಎನ್ನಬೇಕು! ಈ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಒಂದು ಬೌದ್ಧಿಕ ಕಸರತ್ತಿನಂತೆ ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತದೆಯೇ ವಿನಾ, ಮನೋರಂಜನೆಯನ್ನು ಬಯಸಿ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಂದಿರಗಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ವೀಕ್ಷಕನನ್ನು ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿರುವಂತೆ ಕಾಣಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಿನಿಮಾ ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ‘ಇದನ್ನು ತುಸು ಅರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಡಿ' ಎಂದು ಯಾರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳಬಹುದು ಎಂಬ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ‘ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮನಸ್ಸು' ಇರುವವರು ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿದರೆ ತಪ್ಪಲ್ಲ!

ಅಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ನಿಗೂಢ ಸಿನಿಮಾ - ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ

ಕ್ಲಿಷ್ಟಕರವಾದ ಕಥಾವಸ್ತುವನ್ನು ಸಾಂಕೇತಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಹೊಸ ನಿರೂಪಣಾ ಶೈಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಿಬಂದಿದೆ ವರ್ತಮಾನ. ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಚಾಲ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕಂಟೆಂಪರರಿ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದ ಶೈಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಅಮೆರಿಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೈಂ ಮತ್ತು ಸೈಕಲಾಜಿಕಲ್ ಸ್ಟೋರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಕೇತಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೇಳುವ ವಿಧಾನದ ಛಾಯೆ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಮೇಕಿಂಗ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಬಹುದು. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಏನನ್ನೂ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಒಂದು ದೃಶ್ಯದಿಂದ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ದೃಶ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಥೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕ ಟ್ರಾವೆಲ್ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ - ಪದ್ಮಾ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ
