'ರಾಜು ಕನ್ನಡ ಮೀಡಿಯಂ' ನೋಡಿ ವಿಮರ್ಶಕರು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಮಾರ್ಕ್ಸ್ ಎಷ್ಟು.?

ಎರಡು ಕಥೆಗಳ 'ರಾಜು ಕನ್ನಡ ಮೀಡಿಯಂ' - ಪ್ರಜಾವಾಣಿ

ಹದಿಹರೆಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡುವ ಸಣ್ಣ ಆಕರ್ಷಣೆ, ಕೂಡುಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸದಸ್ಯರ ಸಣ್ಣತನಗಳು, ಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ನೆರವಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು, ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ವಿರಹ, ಬ್ಯುಸಿನೆಸ್... ಹೀಗೆ ಹಲವು ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುವ ಯತ್ನ ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ಇಷ್ಟೆಲ್ಲ ಇದ್ದರೂ, ಈ ಎರಡು ಕಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮನಮುಟ್ಟುವಂತೆ ಹೇಳುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಎಷ್ಟರಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಆಗಿದೆ? ಮಧ್ಯಂತರದ ನಂತರ ತೆರೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸುದೀಪ್‌, ಒಬ್ಬ ಉದ್ಯಮಿಯ ಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಗತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ಅಭಿನಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸೋತಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ರಾಜು ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಭರವಸೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಕೆಲವೇ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯಾದರೂ ಸುದೀಪ್ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿನಯದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ - ವಿಜಯ್ ಜೋಷಿ

ವಿಮರ್ಶೆ: ಬದುಕಿನ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನ ಸಾರಲು ಬಂದ ಸೀದಾ ಸಾದ ರಾಜು

ನಗಿಸುತ್ತಲೇ ಭಾವುಕ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯುವ ರಾಜು: ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ

ಕನ್ನಡ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಕೇವಲ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ಬದುಕು ಎನ್ನುವ ಮಾತನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ಷರಶಃ ನಿಜವಾಗಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ 'ರಾಜು ಕನ್ನಡ ಮೀಡಿಯಂ' ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ನರೇಶ್‌ ಕುಮಾರ್‌. ಈ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಇವರು ಕನ್ನಡ ಅಭಿಮಾನದ ಜತೆಗೆ ಹೃದಯಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಟುವಂತಹ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನೂ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಅನುಭವ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಾಗಂತ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಬೋಧನೆಗೆ ಇಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಮನರಂಜನೆಯ ಮಸಾಲೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಾಟಿ ಭೋಜನ ಉಣಬಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಎನ್ನುವ ಹುಡುಕಾಟದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶುರುವಾಗುವ ಸಿನಿಮಾ, ನಂತರ ಅನೇಕ ತಿರುವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತ ನಮ್ಮದೇ ಜೀವನ ದರ್ಶನ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದು ಕಥಾ ನಾಯಕನ ಕಥೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ನಮ್ಮದೇ ಆತ್ಮಕಥೆಯ ಪುಟಗಳು ತೆರೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ. ರಾಜು ಎಂಬ ನಾಯಕ ಬದುಕಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದ ಸಮೀಕರಣ ಕೂಡ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಷ್ಟರ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಗಾಢವಾಗಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು. ಮೇಲ್ನೋಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಓದಿದ ಹುಡುಗನೊಬ್ಬನ ಸ್ಟೋರಿ ಅಂತ ಅನಿಸಿದರೂ, ಅದು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಕಥೆಯಾಗಿ ಬದಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ - ಶರಣು ಹುಲ್ಲೂರು

'Raju Kannada Medium' review - Times of India

Given that First Rank Raju did very well with the youth, it was but natural that the team decided to continue the Raju brand and leverage on it. Does the combination of director Naresh Kumar and Gurunandan work for the second time? It only gets halfway there. The film has a breezy and entertaining first half. But the second half ends up stretching too long and the twists and turns end up a little underwhelming. The makers had a great story as Raju is representative of almost every average youngster who chooses to follow the herd and doesn't try to find his own understanding of the purpose of life. From infatuation to family to friendship to money he finds different meanings to life through each phase of his life - only for him to be let down by each of those at those times. The first half of the film is rather entertaining and seems like an extension of First Rank Raju. The second half has some good bits, especially in the scenes featuring Sudeep, but the twists end up rather comical at times - Sunayana Suresh

Gurunandan and Sudeep starrer is Entertaining: The Indian Express

The star cast is also a big plus. Kiccha Sudeep as Deepak Chakravarthy, the richest businessman in India convincingly fulfills the only purpose why the director brought him on the team. He gives the much-needed star attraction to the film, which mainly has up-and-coming actors. Gurunandan and Avantika Shetty try their best to bring freshness into the story. Naresh's Raju Kannada Medium also has some smartly written dialogues. One can't help but giggle at Chikkanna's short monologue where he explains a few salient features of life in Bengaluru city. The film could have been much better if only Naresh had the will to swim against the tide - Manoj Kumar R

Raju becomes a brand : Bangalore Mirror

The Kannada medium Raju faces all the problems growing up that the protagonist of a Chandamama fairy tale does. The first half is a breezy comical ride. The number of forwarded jokes used in this film are fewer than in the first Raju film, but some of them are older (like the pun on the Hollywood film Mummy). However, there is no stopping Raju. He puns and jokes his way through. The second half, literally, meanders into uncharted territory as Raju finds himself alone on an island and the film loses its way for about 15 minutes. The favourite fantasy of being lost on an uninhabited island with only a blond girl for company is overdone, but the scenes leading up to it and concluding it are fresh action for Kannada fans.
